Marri Krishna Reddy Educational & Charitable Trust

Marri Krishna Reddy Educational & Charitable Trust was founded in the memory of Sri. Marri Krishna Reddy, eldest son of Smt. Savithri Devi & Dr. M. Channa Reddy. He was born on April 10, 1940. Smt. Savithri Reddy lost her parents when she was very young. As she went through a sad phase in life, her teacher told her that Lord Krishna would always be by her.

Marri Krishna Reddy Educational & Charitable Trust was founded in the memory of Sri. Marri Krishna Reddy, eldest son of Smt. Savithri Devi & Dr. M. Channa Reddy. He was born on April 10, 1940. Smt. Savithri Reddy lost her parents when she was very young. As she went through a sad phase in life, her teacher told her that Lord Krishna would always be by her. She developed an affection, trust and refuge in Lord Krishna (baby Krishna) which she maintained throughout her life. She named her eldest son Krishna and even her eldest grandson, Krishna. Mr. Krishna was a very loving and affectionate child and very helpful to both his parents and siblings.He made sure that his mother, Smt. Savithri Devi finished her college because he thought she had to discontinue her education early, after he was born. Infact he used to drive her to college with him. His parents were very proud of him. At a young age he showed interest in leadership and aspired to be sarpanch of his village even before the age of 21. He passed away on June 15, 1961 at a young age of 21, from TB.

Over the last several years, the trust under the stewardship of Sri K. Sudarshan Reddy, Managing Trustee has donated lakhs of rupees every year for various causes focussed on health & education. These include - Shanti Asharam, Sri Satya Sai Trust, Brahmakumari's Global Hospital & Research Center, Child Relief & You (CRY), Missioneries of Chairty, Society to Aid the Hearing Impaired, Balaji Bhavan, (Liberty) Devotee Society, Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Tsunami), Sri Veeramahesheswara Gurukulam, Home for Disabled, The little sisters of the poor, Sivananda Rehabilitation House, Venkataramana Trust, Athena Educational Society, Lucknow, School Education Committee, Pulimamidi, Lok Kalyan Samithi, supporting Yoga classeses and many more individuals and organizations.
